Warrant Officer (Retired), CSt. Barrie Jack, CD

Warrant Officer (Retired) Robert Barrie Jack is nominated for the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation for his work with the Royal Canadian Legion.

He is the Veterans Service Officer at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 6 in Owen Sound, Ontario. In this role, he works diligently to ensure the wellbeing of the Veterans. This ranges from helping with disability claims, assisting homeless veterans with temporary accommodations, food, and emergency debt assistance to organizing Veteran dinners and visits to nursing homes.

He is an integral part of organizing the annual Remembrance Day ceremony and is always available to assist families as they plan funeral and memorial services. Much of his volunteer work as a Service Officer with the Royal Canadian Legion has been a lifeline to local Veterans as he continues to put his time and effort on and off duty to ensure the Veteran community is cared for and remembered.

In addition to his work as a service officer, he has helped raise thousands of dollars of emergency donations to help Veterans at risk of falling into despair and to help them make ends meet.
