Mr. Knight is a Life Member of Branch 173 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Osoyoos. He has served on the executive of the Branch for a number of years, including three years as president. He is a long-term care surveyor, working in partnership with the RCL and Veterans Affairs Canada. Over the past few years, Mr. Knight has visited and completed surveys with hundreds of Veterans in long-term care facilities throughout the Okanagan and Kootenays in BC. He also accompanies the RCL service officer on visits to Veterans in local long-term care facilities on a monthly basis. Mr. Knight drives Veterans to medical appointments. He attends and participates in all Remembrance Day ceremonies and colour parties in his community. For many years, he has arranged and helped to cook for the annual Veterans Dinner at his RCL branch. Mr. Knight is a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
