Mr. Edmond is a former member of the Canadian Army's Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He joined The Royal Canadian Legion in 1958 and was elected president in 1966. He served in that position until 1979. Two years later, he was elected to command Nova Scotia's Zone #4. Having served at various levels on the Provincial Executive Council for 14 years, he was elected to the position of provincial president in 1993. He has served on the Legion's Dominion Executive Council since 1995 and held positions on all major committees. In June 2008, he was elected Dominion President. He is a life member of his branch and has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Palm Leaf.
