Mr. Bridle was a Veteran of the Second World War and an active volunteer throughout his life within his community. A member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association, he held numerous positions on the executive, serving as President on several occasions. He was a member on the Cenotaph Committee, as well as on the Committee to bring a decommissioned Sabre jet to the Peterborough Zoo. Mr. Bridle organized many Remembrance Day ceremonies, was involved in the Air Cadet program and often visited local schools where he would deliver presentations to the students. In 1988, Mr. Bridle was awarded the Association's Ontario Group Member of the Year. He was the Chair of the Royal Canadian Air Force Organ Donor Program and the Peterborough and Kawartha District representative for Transplant International Canada. Mr. Bridle remained active in the Air Force Club organizing numerous group trips and tours, ensuring Veterans and their dependents were included and warmly welcomed.
