A member of the Canadian Forces with a career spanning more than 32 years, Warrant Officer Ford has lead numerous projects to recover, preserve and restore countless Canadian military aircraft and aviation artifacts. As a Canadian military aviation authority and exhibitor, he has spearheaded several military, public and private museum displays across Canada. Mr. Ford is an author and publicist of many squadron and aviation related periodicals relating to Canada's proud military aviation history. As a patron, he has researched and purchased at his own expense, numerous artifacts and aircraft to ensure their safe return to Canada. Recently, Mr. Ford organized a "Service to Remembrance" for Flying Officer John Volfing of 416(F) Squadron who was killed in a F-86 Sabre crash in 1954, and was buried in Copenhagen, Denmark. His outstanding efforts resulted in obtaining the necessary diplomatic clearance to have a "Missing Man Fly Past" over Copenhagen. In addition, Flying Officer Volfing's headstone was replaced and several family members received the Special Service Medal with NATO Bar. Warrant Officer Ford has devoted his lifetime to protecting, preserving and promoting the proud memories of Canadian Veterans, their achievements and sacrifice for Canadians.
