William Siddall

Mr. Siddall is a civilian and a retired firefighter who is interested in military history. He is a former president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #324 and is currently its archivist. It is Mr. Siddall=s passion to collect information from family, friends and government sources on those from his community who served in the Canadian Forces. He has built a case for his collection, which is on display at the Legion Branch. In conducting his research, Mr. Siddall has uncovered the names of individuals whose names were not included on the town=s cenotaph and ensured they received their due recognition. He has co authored articles for the Wheatley Journal on those who gave their lives serving their country. The articles were so popular that consideration is being given to producing CD ROMs, to help future researchers. Mr. Siddall has also contributed to online articles on local service men and women to a wider audience including the rest of Canada, the United States, Great Britain and Australia.
