About this program
You can receive up to $500 to get advice from a financial professional on how to invest and manage a lump-sum.
Some costs for professional services do not qualify for reimbursement, including:
- help with tax returns,
- annual commissions or fees on your investments, and
- travel costs
Do you qualify?
You should apply to be reimbursed for financial advice if you receive a lump-sum payment related to any of the following:
- Pain and Suffering Compensation with an assessment that is 5% or greater,
- Critical Injury Benefit,
- Detention Benefit, or
- Death Benefit
You must apply for reimbursement within 12 months of receiving your award decision.
How to apply
Before you apply
To qualify for this reimbursement, your advisor must be primarily engaged in the business of providing professional financial advice.
Proof of payment
Include the invoice containing the name and address of the financial professional with your application.
Note: Submit the invoice to us and we will pay you directly. Unfortunately, we cannot pay the provider directly.
