Born 12 April 1890 in Carstairs Junction, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Son of William and Marion Torrance, of Dumfriesshire, Scotland; husband of Sarah Torrance, of Cockton Hill, Bishop Auckland, England. Pte Torrance enlisted on 23 May 1916 in Vancouver, British Columbia, joining the 72nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry.

Born in Dumfriesshire Scotland on March 15th 1890. Husband of Sarah Torrance of Auckland England. Robert enlisted into the C.E.F. on March 22nd 1915 listing his occupation as "Logger"
He died in Vancover BC on Dec. 13th 1918 at the age of 28.
