Additional information
Baptized Joseph-Trefflé Cinq-Mars. Son of Octave Cinq-Mars (deceased in 1919) and Adélec Demers, of St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba. Joseph stated being born in 1896 when he enlisted.

Enlisted in the 233rd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he transferred to the 178th Battalion on 1 March 1917 and on the 3rd left for England, arriving on the 15th to be immediately transferred to the 10th Reserve Battalion. On 22nd April 1917, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion. From 9 May 1917 to 10 July 1917, he was on loan to the Signals Corps. Returning to the 22nd Battalion, he arrived in France on 7 September. From 1 to 20 December 1917, he was first loaned to the 182nd Lumelling Company of the Royal Canadian Engineer, then from that date to 18 February 1918 to the 1st Canadian Tunnelling Company. He was killed in action on 28 August 1918 during the Battle of Chérisy.

Take the D38 from Cherisy to Hendecourt. Approximately 2 kilometres from Cherisy turn left just before Sun Quarry Cemetery onto a dirt track. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning left to arrive at Quebec Cemetery.
