The medals and memorabilia of Cpl. Harry Jordan Guest. Mounted in a period oak-box is the 1914-15 Star "Trio", Memorial Plaque, and Memorial Cross on chain. In addition are two Good Conduct medals awarded to young Harry by the Toronto School Board after the turn of the century. A beautiful photo of Harry Guest tops the collection, showing him sometime after enlistment into the CEF. Circumstance of death reports of September 11, 1916: "Whilst in charge of a bombing party in an advanced post at Courcelette, he was killed by the explosion of an enemy shell". -

SUNKEN ROAD CEMETERY, CONTALMAISON Somme, France
Contalmaison is a village in the Department of the Somme, 6 kilometres east-north-east of Albert. The Sunken Road, from which the cemetery is named, is part of the Contalmaison-Pozieres road, and the cemetery lies a little east of the road.
