Son of James A. and Fanny (nee Winger) Schubert and stepson of Elizabeth (nee Playfair), of Tulameen, British Columbia.
His cousin Lance Corporal Bertram Augustus Frank Schubert, who died while serving the Second World War, was named after him.

His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
