Burial/memorial information
He served in Québec, in Newfoundland with Force W and in Hong Kong with C, commanding the 12th Peloton, B Company. He was first buried in Stanley View, but his grave was destroyed in subsequent combats, and his body was not recovered.

Lieutenant JAMES FORSYTH ROSS is one of 22 members of the Royal Rifles of Canada, Royal Canadian Infantry Corps who are commemorated on this panel of the Sai Wam Memorial. He was one of 290 Canadian soldiers killed during the defense of Hong Kong, from December 8th to December 25th, 1941 -
