Pilot Officer George McLaughlin
Lancaster crew in June 1944 from 61 Sqdn Bomber Command, R.A.F. Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire. The fatal crash occurred on 18/19 July 1944 at Marcilly, with no survivors. The aircraft was a Lancaster Mk III, serial DV304. The target mission (26th of this crew) was a railway installation in Revigny, France. There were 8 casualties (Warren Quigley was injured in a previous mission, he was replaced by P/O G. A. Davey as rear gunner. Also, present on this 26th mission was F/O J. B. Thompson as the 2nd pilot.

Marcilly is a village and commune 58 kilometres north-north-east of Melun, and 10 kilometres north of Meaux. The MARCILLY COMMUNAL CEMETERY lies on the north-east side of the village on a by-road leading from the church.
