Sergeant Hubert L. Ditner, 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards. Wounded by a German machine gun while leading a counterattack at the Naviglio Canal in Italy, Sergeant Ditner died hours later of his injuries.He served in the United Kingdom and North Africa prior to fighting in Italy and was mourned by his parents and eight brothers and sisters on the farm where he was raised in Petersburg, Ontario. -
