Additional information
Son of Claude Ranald Hemeon and Lydia Cunningham Smith of Port Clyde, Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Nephew of Saper Vance Alton Hemeon, regimental number 695478, 4th Company, Canadian Railway Troops, Canadian Expeditionary Force, killed in action in France on 12 December 1917.

A member of convoy HX-133, she was torpedoed at 0030 hours on 29 June 1941 by U-651 and sank off Iceland, position 59°30'N/18°07'W.
