photo courtesy of Mark Banning, England. Roy Savoy enlisted in Dec. 43; was sent to France 6 Sept. 44, then assigned to the Winnipeg Rifles, and was killed on the 28th at age 18. He was born in Burnt Church, N. B.( the lands at Burnt Church have long been occupied by First Nations peoples). He had been working as a woodsman for 2 wks when he enlisted and had been a fisherman and a trapper. -
