After joining convoy OG-65, the Ellinico headed for Wabana, Newfoundland. Away from the other ships, at 6:20 am on 25 June 1941, she was hit by a torpedo launched from U-108. She sank by the stern in less than three minutes, in position 51°00'N/41°00'W. The number of casualties is unknown.
