The Bic Island was built as the Italian freighter Capo Noli. She was captured by HMCS Bras d'Or on June 10 1940 and brought into Canadian merchant fleet as the Bic Island, named for Île du Bic in St. Lawrence River not far from where she was captured.
At 0:15 am on 29 October 1942, the Bic Island was torpedoed and sunk by U-224 southwest of Rockall, an isolated rock between Ireland and Iceland, position 55°05'N/23°27'W.
