The Toronto Star, March 14, 1945, page 28 P/O (N) Dawson was serving on 142 (RAF) Squadron when Wellington aircraft HE 293 crashed in the Pass of Portula, 50 miles NE of Turin, Italy. The target the night of July 13, 1944 was the Lambrake marshalling yards at Milan, Italy. Another Canadian, 20-year old F/S (BA) George E. Smith, of Regina, Sask., was also killed.
