Peacekeepers' Day Ceremony in Winnipeg

The Canadian Association of Veterans in United Nations Peacekeeping is hosting a Peacekeeping Memorial Service on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the shooting down of the Buffalo Aircraft over the Lebanese/Syrian border on 9 August 1974. This act of aggression resulted in the loss of 9 Canadian Peacekeepers' lives. 

The ceremony is at 10:00 am on Memorial Boulevard at the Peacekeepers Cairn, north of the Legislative Building at York Avenue. 

A reception will follow in the Rotunda of the Legislative Building following the service.
