Canada General Service Medal (1866-1870)

This medal was awarded to members of the Imperial and Canadian forces who had taken part in the suppression of the Fenian raids of 1866 and 1870 and Riel's First Rebellion of 1870, the latter being generally referred to as the Red River Expedition.

The Egypt Medal was authorized on 5 November 1884.

North West Canada Medal

The creation of a medal for members of Canadian militia forces who helped suppress the 1885 North West Rebellion was authorized in August 1885. Its design was approved in October 1885.

This South African War medal was authorized in 1900.

This South Africa War medal was authorized in 1902. The medal was always issued with the Queen's Medal.

This First World War medal was authorized in April 1917, and the bar on 19 October 1919. It is often called the 'MONS STAR'.

This First World War medal was authorized in December 1918. This medal is always issued with the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.

This First World War medal was authorized on 26 July 1919. It was possible to receive this medal alone but all gallantry medals would receive the British War Medal (BWM) and the Victory Medal (VM) as well.

Mercantile Marine War Medal

This First World War medal was authorized for Canadians in the Canadian Gazette on 08 May 1920. There were 624 issued to Canadians and 133,135 awarded in total.

Victory Medal (Inter-Allied War Medal)

This First World War medal was agreed to by all allies in March 1919. All medals were to be almost identical to obviate the need to exchange allied medals and each was patterned after a French medal of 1870. The medal was authorized in Britain (and for Canadians) on 01 September 1919.
