This is the inscription on the Aberfoyle War Memorial. The 1901 Scottish Census shows the Wilson family living in Aberfoyle. His father's name was Archibald and mother's was Christina. Two brothers, Archibald and John also served in the Canadian Army and are commemorated on the memorial as well. Gavin enlisted on 18/1/1916 at Winnipeg. His occupation was a farmer.
