Lieutenant George Joseph Beaumont
World War One memorial tablet, St. Paul's (Anglican), Bloor St. East, Toronto, Ontario. One of two memorial tablets set within a spectacular carved alabaster chancel screen. Erected in memory of the men of St. Paul's who died during the first World War and unveiled in March 1926. Each alabaster tablet incorporates mosaic work depicting kneeling angels holding a laurel wreath and a torch. Seventy-six names in total were listed by date of death. Inscribed: ¿DYING AND BEHOLD WE LIVE¿, and ¿So he passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side.¿ (John Bunyan).

Last Lancashire Regt, B.E.F., France. Born 6th July 1892 at Galt, Waterloo Co. Ontario. Died from wounds in France, January 24, 1917. Buried in the British Cemetery at Varennes France. Copy of photo taken in Egypt. Lieut. Beaumont left Canada with the 1st Contingent and afterwards obtained a commission in the British Army in France.

VARENNES MILITARY CEMETERY Somme, France
Varennes is a village in the Department of the Somme, a little way south of the Doullens-Albert road. It is 11 kilometres from Albert and 18 kilometres from Amiens.
The Communal Cemetery is on the north side of the road to Leavillers, less than one kilometre from Varennes Church and the VARENNES MILITARY CEMETERY is opposite it, across a side road.
