Baptized Joseph-Tancrède-Victor Harvey. Son of Élie Harvey and Léocadie Balté, of La Malbaie (Murray Bay), Charlevoix, Québec.
Enlisted in the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he sailed for Great Britain on May 20, 1915, and landed on the 29th in Plymouth, England. On July 29, 1915, he took his own life with a gunshot to the head at East Sandling Camp.
