Some of the medals awarded to Lieut. Laing DCM. Awarded the DCM for gallantry at the Somme: "For conspicuous gallantry in action. He led his men in the attack with great courage and determination, and set a splendid example throughout". <P>
Laing was killed at Hill 70 on August 18, 1917.

FOSSE No. 10 COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION Pas de Calais, France
Sains-en-Gohelle is a mining village 20 kilometres north of Arras on the road to Bethune. Fosse No.10 is a pithead and group of miners' houses south of the village.
