Grave of Lt. Colonel Howard L. Bodwell C.M.G. & D.C.O. who served with the Canadian Engneers C.E.F. Born in Ingersoll Ontario on Oct. 13th 1881. Husband of Dulcia M. Bodwell. Howard enlisted into the C.E.F. in March of 1915 listing prior military service with the following units 3 years with the R.M.C. 72nd & 47th Battn. C.E.F. he listed his occupation as "Civil Engneer" Howard died on Jan. 15th 1919 at age 37 during the great Spanish Flu panademic of 1918-19. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC -

He was awarded a Distinguished Service Order. He was the son of Lila Hay Bodwell, of Ingersoll, Ontario, and the late E. Graham Bodwell. He was the husband of Dulcia Margaret Bodwell. He died on Jan 15, 1919 of pneumonia at 37 years of age. He was buried in the Vancouver (Mountain View) Cemetery. An an ex-cadet, he is named on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada. -
