Grave of 1037141 Pvt. Basil H. Hertslet who served with the 238th Battn. C.E.F. He was born in the City of Richmond in Surrey England on Sept. 11th 1872. Husband of Helen Hertslet.
He first enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on May 18th 1916 but was later discharged in Aug. of 1917 due to an Gastric ulcer. He enlisted once again on March 22nd 1918 and listed his occupation as "Farmer" Basil died on April 28th 1918 at the age of 55 and was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC
