Grave of 504953 Sapper Robert Stokes who served with the Canadian Engneers C.E.F. He was born in the town of Wishaw in Lanarkshire Scotland on Sept. 23rd 1881. Husband of Margaret J. Stokes of Cobalt Ont. Robert enlisted into the C.E.F. at Timmins Ontario on April 21st 1916, he listed prior military service with the 2nd Battn Scotish Rifles and saw action in South Africa 1900-02, he listed his occupation as "Engineer" Robert died in Vancouver BC on June 8th 1919 at the age of 37 and was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
