Baptized George-Étienne Filiatrault. Son of Adolphe Filiatrault and Marie (aka Édesse and Marie Thérèse) Desjardins, of Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville, Terrebonne, Québec. He stated being born on 28 August 1888 when he enlisted.
Enlisted in the 57th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was assigned to Company A of the 41st Battalion on October 13, 1915. He sailed for Great Britain on the 18th and landed at Plymouth, England, on the 28th. On March 2, 1916, he was assigned to the 23rd Reserve Battalion and on the 30th to the 10th Reserve Battalion. He left Folkestone for France on the 15th and landed at Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, on the 16th. He had been transferred to the 22nd Battalion on the 15th. He went to the front line on May 6, 1916. He was wounded in combat in the right arm by shrapnel on October 1 during the Battle of the Somme and was evacuated to England. On June 24, 1917, he returned to his unit. He was killed in action on August 28, 1918, during the Battle of Chérisy, Pas-de-Calais, near Vis-en-Artois.

Take the D38 from Cherisy to Hendecourt. Approximately 2 kilometres from Cherisy turn left just before Sun Quarry Cemetery onto a dirt track. Continue for 1 kilometre before turning left to arrive at Quebec Cemetery.
