Baptized Louis-Félix Labrie. Son of Obéline Hébert (deceased in 1913) and David Labrie (remarried in 1914 to Henriette Robichaud), of Paquetville, Gloucester, New Brunswick.
Enlisted in the 165th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he sailed for Great Britain on March 25, 1917, and arrived in Liverpool, England, on April 7. Upon his arrival, he was assigned to the 13th Reserve Battalion and then, on May 31, to the Canadian Forestry Corps. On February 4, 1918, he was assigned to the 10th Reserve Battalion, based in Inverness, Scotland. On April 7 of that year, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion and crossed the English Channel on the 10th to land in France. He joined his new unit in combat on June 5. He was killed in action on August 28, 1918, during the Battle of Chérisy.
His name is inscribed on the memorial plaque erected in Paquetville, Gloucester, New Brunswick, on March 6, 1919.
