Son of Ernest A. and Jessie Simpson of Toronto, Ontario.
Brother of Lieutenant Ernest Alroy Simpson, who died on September 22, 1916, while serving with the Canadian Infantry (Central Ontario Regiment).
Military Cross, London Gazette No. 29837 dated 24 November 1916, "For conspicuous gallantry in action. He personally supervised the movements of the supporting troops under intense fire, displaying great courage and initiative, and setting a splendid example to his men. He has on many previous occasions done very fine work". 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal.

HOUCHIN BRITISH CEMETERY Pas de Calais, France
Houchin is a village situated between Barlin and Bethune, about 5 kilometres south of Bethune in the Pas-de-Calais. HOUCHIN BRITISH CEMETERY is to be found in open farmland on the south-west side of Houchin village.
HOUCHIN BRITISH CEMETERY is served by a farm track which is accessible from the Houchin to Hallicourt road, D72. There are CWGC signposts to be found in the village of Houchin and on the main D72 road.
