Burial/memorial information
Transferred from the 69th Reserve Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force to the 22nd Battalion on 28 June 1916. On the 29th, he landed at Boulogne, Pas-de-Calais, France, and went to the front line on 13 July 1916, to take part in the Battle of the Somme. He was killed in action on 14 September 1916 at the Battle of Courcelette.

His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
