Son of Arthur Desjardins and Mélina Jodoin, of Montréal, Québec. He stated being born on 25 November when he enlisted.
Enlisted in the 57th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, he was first transferred to the 69th Battalion and left for Great Britain on June 2, 1916, arriving on the 8th. On August 27, he was transferred to the 22nd Battalion in Shorncliffe. From September 18 to 20, 1916, he was loaned to the 2nd Canadian Entrenchment Battalion. On October 4, 1916, he was reported missing in action during the Battle of Courcelette, France. He was confirmed killed in action and his body was never found.

His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial. Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
