Barrington Quinan (family nickname Punch) emigrated to Canada in the early 1900s from Scotland. He was in the militia and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force to France in 1914. This photograph was taken of him in about that time. The cap badge and other insignia shown in the photograph, as well as the Silver Cross given to his mother are still kept in the family.

This is Captain Quinan's grave in Cathcart cemetery, Glasgow. Unfortunately the cross has become unstable and has been taken down.
