Private Edward Grant Pickernell was born in London, England, on December 7th, 1884. He was married to Emma Margaret Pickernell at the time of his enlistment. Although he had no prior military experience, he volunteered to serve at the Toronto Recruiting Depot on January 10th, 1916. -
Inscription
His name as it is inscribed on the Vimy Memorial (2010). Over 11,000 fallen Canadians having no known place of burial in France, are honoured on this Memorial. May they never be forgotten. (J. Stephens) -
