Biography
Like so many soldiers who enlisted in the CEF in WW1, Herbert’s ties to Canada were relatively short lived. He spend most of his short life growing up in the Isle of Man. Upon graduating from school in 1913, he came to Canada seeking a new life in Alberta pursuing a career as a lumberman. This career did not last long as Herbert was early to enlist with the Edmonton Fusiliers in August 1914. -
