This brass memorial plaque is inside St Luke's Church, Derby, England. The Helen Louisa & Edward Ernest Taylor mentioned on the dedication were sister & brother to William Taylor's father, George William Taylor. He was born in Derby & moved to Vancouver in 1882. -

He was born in Nanaimo B.C., & enlisted on 7th April 1915 at New Westminster B.C., having previously served 8 mths in the 6th D.C.O.R. He was a Civil Engineer by occupation. He gave his next-of-kin as Alfred James Towle Taylor of the Taylor Engineering Company of Vancouver. Alfred Taylor was a prominent engineering contractor & entrepreneur born in Victoria 8 years before William was born. -
