Howard Charles Pretoria McCreedy was born in Saltash, Cornwall, England. McCreedy's father was Joseph McCreedy, who was living at 806 Yonge Street in Toronto at the time of his son's enlistment. McCreedy's military attestation was completed at Barriefield training camp in June 1915. There are discrepancies between this newspaper report and the official records. These errors were fairly common in newspaper accounts and were a combination of typographic errors and other issues. -
