Son of Francois Drolet and Amarilda Bertrand, of Ste-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier, Portneuf, Québec. Henri’s father Francois remarried to Bernadette Denis in 1928.

Enlisted in the Royal 22nd Regiment, he left for Great Britain on July 15, 1940, and arrived in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 1. On November 4, 1942, he was awarded the Good Conduct Badge. As part of Force M, he embarked for Sicily on June 15, 1943, as part of Operation Husky, and landed on the Sicilian beaches on July 10. In a desperate act, he took his own life on the 15th.

Interred the day he died in San Giacomo, Sicily (Coordinates 245214). His grave was not found later.
