Son of Joseph Émile Bédard and Marie Aurore Lépine from Clermont, Québec.
Enlisted on 3 April 1942, he served as a gunner with the 4th Medium Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery until his transfer to Italy with the 4th Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment on 23 August 1944. He was killed in action during the Battle of San Fortunato, Italy. He was buried in Pesaro, Italy, before being returned to Gradara, Italy.
