WO2 Ewan Cameron Currie, age 25, was killed on December 7, 1943, when the160 Squadron Liberator (BZ885), in which he was wireless-air-gunner, suddenly dived to the ground, at Sigerya, Ceylon. They had just taken off on an anti-submarine patrol. Their full load of depth charges exploded on impact, and there were no survivors. The crew was buried in the Kandy (Sri Lanka) War Cemetery.

KANDY WAR CEMETERY Sri Lanka
From the Botanical Gardens at Peridenya, take the road to Kandy. Just past the gardens, take a left turning at the rightside direction sign, down Lady Magdalene Drive. The KANDY WAR CEMETERY is approximately 1.5 kilometres along this road.
