Son of George and Agnes Crocker of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. His father passed away when he was a year and a half and his mother passed away when he was 4 years old. He was the second youngest of ten children. His brothers and sisters were George, Walter, Lillian, Samuel, Emily, Annie, Gwendolyn, Bessie, and Marian.
