He was a signal soldier with the 2nd Company of the 3rd Division of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals – NPAM – in Ottawa, Ontario, service number 1463, from October 30, 1936 to April 9, 1940. He served in Canada and Great Britain. He had 650 days of service, including 270 overseas.
