His full name is Joseph Edmond Doucette.

Son of Peter John Doucette and Elizabeth Gaudet, of Lower Wedgeport, Nova Scotia. Husband of Ella Viola Pothier, of Wedgeport. Father of Helen Marguerite Doucette.

Brother-in-law of Private Walter Pothier (1896-1916), regimental number 469917, of the 26th Battalion (New Brunswick) of the Canadian Expeditionary Force, killed in action on August 5, 1916, during the Battle of the Somme.

A member of convoy SC-20, this ship was torpedoed at 1:53 p.m. on February 6, 1941, by U-107 and sank 120 miles (193 km) west of Rockall, an isolated rock between Ireland and Iceland, position 55°39'N/15°56'W.
