Son of Leon-Xiste Sabourin and Amelie (nee Farrell) Sabourin, of St. Isidore de Prescott, Ontario. Brother of Simone, Rita, Jeanne, Genevieve et Madeleine.

His death occurred on 16 September during air action against Rommel's Army in Libya following a period of widespread activities on both the European and African fronts as a Spitfire pilot. He had already been credited with destroying seven enemy aircraft. He joined the RCAF in June 1940, training in Toronto, Prince Albert and Camp Borden, receiving his Wings in December 1940.
