Photo and information about crash courtesy of Airwar Over Denmark www.flensted.eu.com <P> Lancaster R5628 of 207 (RAF) Sqn. and was on Gardening (mining) operation to Silverthorn.(Kattegat)<P> On the return flight the aircraft was attacked by a German night fighter and crashed at 04:09 into the sea some 10 kilometres south west of Thyborøn killing all onboard. Flt.Engr. Sgt Francis R. Carter and W/Op-Air Gnr. P/O Donald W. Ross RCAF were on 14/9 1942 laid to rest in Lemvig cemetery. -

LEMVIG CEMETERY Denmark
Lemvig is a small town and port on the west coast of Jutland, on the south side of the Lim Fjord. The General Cemetery lies on the right hand side of the road to Ringkobing. About 225 metres from the entrance is the British Plot which contains 45 burials.
