Son of Gregory and Nellie Fedun, of Spirit Lake, Saskatchewan. Brother of Otto, Steven, Tony, Fred, Laura, Mary, Katie, Annie, Rosie and Martha. Originally from Peremyzyl, Galicia, the family came to the Whitesand district in 1908. Michael and his cousin, Lance Corporal William Fedun died just three days apart, on 22 September 1944.
