Son of Samuel J. and Lauretta McCreery, of Ingersoll, Ontario. Prior to joining the Chaplain Corps, Albert McCreery was a Lieutenant at No. 2 Canadian Armoured Corps Reinforcement Unit (CACRU) in Aldershot, England. The Reverend McCreery was the last Canadian padre to die in the Second World War. He was educated at McMaster Divinity School in Hamilton, Ontario.
