Cst. Harrison died near the Eastern Gate of Banff National Park while attempting to apprehend three robber suspects. Wounded, he managed to shoot out both headlights of the vehicle the suspects were driving before he collapsed. Cst. Harrison is buried in the Banff Cemetery. His funeral procession included a piper and a trumpeter from the Lord Strathcona’s Horse. Cst. Harrison was single.
