Cst. Wynn was originally from Newcastle, New Brunswick. He was posted to St. Albert Detachment in Alberta upon graduation from Depot. He died from a gunshot wound sustained while attempting to apprehend a suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation on January 21, 2015 in St. Albert, Alberta.
Prior to joining the RCMP, Cst. Wynn worked as a paramedic in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He enjoyed all types of outdoor activities such as scuba diving, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and dirt biking. Everyone who talks about Cst. Wynn describes him as: prankster, teaser, joker, kind, dependable and a likeable guy.
Cst. Wynn was married to Shelly and they had three sons, Matthew, Nathan, and Alexander. Cst. Wynn lived for his boys and actively made their pursuits his.
